shutdown immediate >>> HANG <<<

shutdown immediate HANG for long time

When we shutdown our database with IMMEDIATE option and sometime it will HANG for long time.
AND there is no active connection nothing but HANG HANG HANG !!!

Because some long running transaction action and PMON not able to clean all connection.

suggestion
1.OPEN NEW WINDOWS
2.CONNECT WITH SYS USER
3.SHUTDOWN ABORT
4.STARTUP RESTRICT
5.SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE >>> SOME TIME IT WILL ALSO TAKE LONG TIME.

You can see below message in Alert.log
'Waiting for smon to disable tx recovery'

and in udump folder in trace file you can see

"SHUTDOWN: waiting for active calls to complete."


Note: Don't do that above ( shutdown abort + startup combination) if you do COLD BACKUP.
