Hi,

I noticed weird Oracle behavior starting yesterday and traced it back to Error 1053 this morning. Found your instructions and just tried them.

Everything worked until the last statement: emctl start dbconsole.

I got "The service is not responding to the control function."

Any ideas as to what else I can try?

I got "The service is not responding to the control function."

Actually this happen becuase of db console services is not properly shutdown/stop.
you have to first stop or shutdown db console services properly through below commands
1. set oracle_sid=[sid]
2. emctl stop dbconsole
or
restart your machine
and
try to start again
1. set oracle_sid=[sid]
2. emctl start dbconsole
