you don't have sufficient privileges to write to the specified path in component Database Configuration Assistant 9.2.0.1.0 installation cannot continue for this component

While installing oracle 9204 on linux then getting following message after selection of installation type at privileged system group screen.

you don't have sufficient privileges to write to the specified path in component Database Configuration Assistant 9.2.0.1.0 installation cannot continue for this component

Reason: ORACLE_BASE is not defined prior to execute runinstaller
Solution: set ORACLE_BASE and give the proper permission to oracle user on oracle base directory, after that re-execute runinstaller
